So, you will probably want to increase the dpi of your final paper designs. However, keep in mind that the iPad has a resolution of 264 dpi and it is customary to use a 300 dpi for printing. As is customary when using an 8 point or pixel grid design system, we will be using a 72 dpi resolution for our templates. The default GoodNotes letter size is 612 x 792 pixels at 72 dpi. You can find information about the default paper sizes for GoodNotes on their website (see link below). Next, we will create a new notebook in GoodNotes that we will use to test all of the templates that we create. Once exported, we will open it into Affinity Designer, or other software, and study the layout details. We will export the squared paper design in the PDF format to maintained the layers. We will study the preinstalled squared paper layout in GoodNotes. Our note taking app helps you capture and prioritize ideas, projects and to-do lists, so nothing falls through the cracks. We will begin by learning from the source. You will use these templates as a starting point for your planner paper designs, such as to do list, note paper, journal pages, wedding plans, recipes and more. As with most templates, these templates will have simple layouts with placeholders for text and design elements. The templates will be based on an 8.5 x 11 inches paper size and an 8 point or pixel grid design system. In this tutorial series, we will be creating a template kit with various paper design templates for a planner to be used in GoodNotes.
